Prof. Dr. Roumen Nikolov
Roumen is a CEO of Virtech and CTO of BullCharge (https://www.bullcharge.one/). He is also a UNESCO Chairholder. He works in the area of Internet of Things, Future Internet, Smart City applications, AI, Big Data, Digital Repositories and Services, Knowledge Management, Innovation, e-learning, application of Living Labs methodology and tools in development of innovative products and services, etc. Roumen specialised in USA, UK, the Netherlands, and other countries. He is also Member of the MB of ACTIVAGE.ORG and member of AIOTI, Co-Chair of WG Health. He has participated in more than 100 EU FP projects (since FP4), such as: H2020 AI4EU, H2020 LSP ACTIVAGE, H2020 BOWI, H2020 Cross4Health; EIT Climate KIC TRANSFORM Project; FP7: ELLIOT, TARGET, SISTER, ECOSPACE, TENCompetence, etc. He has more than 100 publications.
Dr. Alexandre Chikalanov
Alexandre is a CTO of Virtech with 30+ years of experience in software industry. He has led many industrial projects related to development large enterprise systems operating with databases containing over 100 millions of records, several projects for mobile technology systems, a system for audiovisual digital rights protection, expertise in development of platforms for data acquisition from remote sensing devices, interactive TV, etc. He has been involved also in several European RTD Projects, such as: H2020 AI4EU, H2020 LSP ACTIVAGE, H2020 BOWI, H2020 Cross4Health; EIT Climate KIC TRANSFORM Project; FP7 ELLIOT, FP7 ELLIOT, FP7 TARGET, a CIP ICT PSP Project – ATLAS, and several projects under the EC Lifelong Learning Program.
Eng. MSc Vladislav Jivkov
Vladislav is highly experienced professional in the fields of Innovation Management, Inbound and Outbound Transnational Technology Transfer (TTT), Strategic Business Development and Management of complex Projects. Special focus and expertise in the end-to-end process management from the definition, structuring, and detailed functionality definition to the final implementation and support of sophisticated and complex WEB projects, delivering services with measurable value. Areas of professional interest: IT, WEB, eHealth, mHealth, Remote monitoring, Smart homes, Automation and Control Systems. Believes in business activities bringing significant social impact.
Prof. Dr. Mariyana Lyubenova
She is a member of 4 international and Bulgarian scientific organizations, member of 3 editorial boards, 4 public organizations and scientific committees. Key words: plant ecology, functional ecology, dendrochronology, plant monitoring, ecotoxicology, ecosystem modelling, ecosystem services, vegetation protection ecosystem services and PES of water, terrestrial and urban ecosystems. Prof. Lyubenova has been involved in a large number of EU projects, such as: CA COST Action CA15206, Payments for Ecosystem Services (Forests for Water), MC member and WG3 chair, FPS COST Action FP1304, Towards robust projections of European forests under climate change (PROFOUND), etc.
Dr. George Gachev
He works also at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. George does research in Information Science, Computing in Mathematics, Natural Science, Engineering and Medicine and Computer Communications (Networks). George has been involved also in several European RTD Projects, such as: H2020 AI4EU, H2020 LSP ACTIVAGE, H2020 BOWI, H2020 Cross4Health; EIT Climate KIC TRANSFORM Project.
Stoyan Stoyanov
Extensive experience with software development life-cycle; Agile methodology (Certified 134/2016/2 SkillSoft); JIRA, ICT and software QA and testing procedures and technology. C/C++ Python, Perl, shell scripts, LISP, Prolog. Component, Design and Analysis Tools. Databases: Oracle (PL/SQL), PostgreSQL, MySQL (MariaSQL). Operating systems: Linux – full support, development and administration, Windows administration and fluent development. Others: – UML (use Enterprise Architect – Sparx Systems Inc), ERP: Odoo, Open DX. Projects: H2020 AI4EU, MED-AI cascade funding project: Towards personalized medicine via a Smart CDSS. AI enhanced CDSS managing large volumes of structured and non-structured medical data in an integrated hospital ERP system; H2020 BOWI Project, cascade funding: a Body Hydration Monitor solution.
Dr. Alexander I. Iliev
Alex is an eminent scholar in the fields of AI/ML, Smart Systems, Signal Processing, and Emotion Recognition. He is affiliated to: Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; Center of Excellence in Informatics and ICT; University, SRH Berlin University as an Academic Head of Big Data and AI; University of California Berkeley as a Lead Lecturer; University of Miami; and University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Alex has an extensive business background as well. He is a Co-Founder of Innovatia Valley, a Digital Innovation Hub. In the past, he was a Product Manager for Gracenote, Emeryville California, a consultant for Labcyte, San Jose, California, and Stealth Media Labs, Chicago, Illinois, etc. Dr. Iliev has been involved in a number of projects of Virtech, such as: Horizon Europe HealthyW8, H2020 BOWI; H2020 ACTIVAGE, H2020 Cross4Health, EIT Climate KIC TRANSFORM H2020 WE-TRANSFORM, and others.
Peter Stanchev
Peter used to be a professor at Kettering University, Flint, Michigan, USA and professor at Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He has professional experience in AI/ML, Signal, image and video processing, multimedia systems, database systems, multimedia semantics, education, open access to scientific information and data and medical systems. He has M.Sc., Ph.D. and D.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Sofia University, published 2 books, have more than 200 chapters in monographs, journal and conference peer-reviewed papers, more than 200 conference papers and seminars. Prof. Stanchev has been involved in a number of projects of Virtech, such as: Horizon Europe HealthyW8, H2020 BOWI; H2020 ACTIVAGE, H2020 Cross4Health, EIT Climate KIC (COVID-19 Call) TRANSFORM, H2020 AI4EU, and others.
