Virtech is a co-founder of SofiaLab, an Urban Living Lab and a member of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL). SofiaLab serves as a Smart City innovation hub, fostering urban development by bringing together key stakeholders from public administration, academia, industry, and social organizations.
A key strength of SofiaLab is its role in supporting the development and implementation of Sofia’s Smart Specialisation Strategy, which is centered around the Smart City concept. As the central hub for a network of Living Lab nodes across the city, SofiaLab facilitates co-design, co-development, and experimentation in an open, collaborative environment. By providing a maker-space and a dynamic testing ground, it drives the piloting of digital innovations, accelerating Sofia’s transformation into a smarter, more sustainable urban ecosystem.
